OurTahoe.org is a unique community journalism Web site. Minimizing fire threat, preserving lake clarity, and making Tahoe a vibrant, viable community in which to live are issues that belong to all of us — not just elected officials. OurTahoe.org is a place where you can learn about the issues, teach others about issues you're familiar with, and decide with your neighbors how to solve public problems. Once you decide on a plan to solve those problems OurTahoe.org has tools to help you take action. If there is something you'd like to see on the Web site and don't, let us know. We'll help you add it to the site. Welcome, and thanks for joining the conversation.
Here are just a few of the tools on OurTahoe.org we've designed to help connect you to your community:
TahoeDeliberate: Learn about alternatives to reducing fire threat in the Tahoe Basin and then deliberate with others about the best way to manage it.
TahoeConnections: Take a look at which civic groups are the most influential in the Tahoe Basin.
TahoeImpact: Play a game that allows you to see how your lifestyle affects the water clarity of Lake Tahoe.
TahoeNotebook: Contribute to the news by giving a Tahoe Daily Tribune reporter tips, sources and new facts about stories.
TahoePlaces: Map the places in Tahoe that are important to you and that you most want to protect. Compare your map to other Tahoe residents and visitors.
TahoePromise: Make a promise to take action in your community. This tool will help you promote that promise and get others to join you.
TahoeShare: Upload pictures, post memories, and join or start conversations about your Tahoe community.
TahoeVoices: Join with policymakers and other citizens in a community blog to share your knowledge and concerns about environmental issues at Lake Tahoe.
